Munds
Park is a unique mountain community nestled in the midsection
of the longest range of ponderosa pines in Arizona. A short
one and one-half hour drive north of Phoenix, it is ideally
located off I-17 just 20 miles south of Flagstaff. It is
a summer haven for many of the Valley's residents.
Munds
Park is the envy of many developments. Built amongst the
trees, it is a true mountain home community with approximately
3,000 homes that provide a quiet and relaxed atmosphere
for its residents or those looking to relocate. There are
adventures for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking,
biking and for ATV enthusiasts just outside the perimeter
of this quaint island community that is surrounded by National
Forest. Lake O'Dell adds to the outdoor enjoyment with a
small catch-and-release fishing hole and an abundance of
social activities provided by the community country club.
In
the fall and winter months it's not unusual to see a small
group of White Tailed Deer or female Elk and their calves
cross over the paved roads to munch on acorns or tall fall
grasses. In Spring many wildflowers are found in meadowy
areas with eagles spotted circling from above and other
wildlife that wander throughout this rural community. It
is a impressive paradise for nature lovers.
Throughout
the magazines editorial you will discover the history of
Pinewood-Munds Park, nearby Foxboro Estates, and the founding
families that settled into this community. Once a cattle
ranch, it has evolved into one of the most sought after
communities in Northern Arizona.
